অনেক অনেক বছর আগের কথা। নদীর ধারে এক ছোট্ট শান্ত গ্রাম ছিল। গ্রামের নাম ছিল শান্তিপুর—যেখানে সকলে মিলে ভালোবাসা আর একতা নিয়ে বসবাস করত। সেখানে চাষ হতো, গাভী দুধ দিত, আর প্রতিটি ঘরে ছিল শান্তি ও সমৃদ্ধি।
গ্রামের সবচেয়ে বয়স্ক মানুষ ঠাকুরমা বলতেন,
“যেখানে আছে সততা, পরিশ্রম আর ভালোবাসা, সেখানেই মা লক্ষ্মী থাকেন।” 🌸
প্রতি বছর গ্রামে ধুমধাম করে লক্ষ্মী পূজা হত। ঘরবাড়ি ধুয়ে-মুছে পরিষ্কার করা হতো, চালের আল্পনা আঁকা হতো উঠোনে, আর সন্ধ্যায় জ্বলতো শত শত প্রদীপ।
কিন্তু একটা বছর, কিছু বদলে গেল।

সেই বছর গ্রামের লোকেরা ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়েছিল লোভে, হিংসায় আর স্বার্থে। সবাই শুধু নিজের লাভ নিয়ে ভাবতে শুরু করেছিল। কেউ আর পরিশ্রম করতে চাইছিল না। দোকানদার ঠকাচ্ছিল, চাষিরা কাজ ফেলে দিচ্ছিল, বাড়ির মেয়েরা পূজা করতেও অনীহা দেখাচ্ছিল।
এক রাতে, এক বৃদ্ধা স্বপ্নে দেখলেন—মা লক্ষ্মী উঠে দাঁড়িয়েছেন তাঁর মন্দির থেকে।
তিনি বললেন,
“এই গ্রামে আর ভক্তি নেই, ভালোবাসা নেই। আমি চলে যাচ্ছি…” 😔
পরদিন থেকে গ্রামে শুরু হল দুর্ভোগ।
ধান ফলল না। গাভীগুলো অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়ল। বাজারে জিনিসের দাম বেড়ে গেল। লোকেরা একে অপরকে সন্দেহ করতে শুরু করল। শান্তিপুর হয়ে উঠল অশান্তিপুর।
🪔 এক ছোট মেয়ের আশা…
এই সবের মধ্যেও ছিল একজন—এক ছোট মেয়ে, নাম খুকু। সে প্রতিদিন সকালে মা লক্ষ্মীর নাম করে জলে ফুল ভাসাত। নিজের ছোট্ট উঠোনটা নিজের হাতে ঝাঁট দিয়ে সাফ করত, চালের গুঁড়ো দিয়ে আল্পনা আঁকত।
একদিন মা লক্ষ্মী স্বপ্নে এলেন খুকুর কাছে। মা বললেন,
“তুই তো এখনো বিশ্বাস হারাস নি। আমি তোর ভালোবাসায় আবার ফিরব…” 🌟
🌕 আলো ফিরে এল…
খুকু একা হাতে পুরো পাড়ায় লক্ষ্মী পূজার আয়োজন শুরু করল। প্রথমে কেউ এগিয়ে এল না। কিন্তু খুকুর নিষ্ঠা দেখে প্রতিবেশীরা একে একে ফিরে এলেন। কেউ ফুল আনল, কেউ চাল, কেউ প্রদীপ।
আবার উঠোন ভরল ধবধবে আল্পনায়।
আবার পূজার থালায় উঠল নারকেল, মুড়ি, কলা আর সন্দেশ।
সেই পূজার রাতে, পুরো গ্রাম যেন আলোয় ঝলমল করল। বাতাসে বাজল শঙ্খ আর উলুধ্বনি। আর তখনই…
